nature is slowly
dying
        In a civilised way

yesterdays
        weaved

out of black
        bryony
        dreams

damson visions
        made out

of insubstantial
hawthorn
        seeds

and the next
       elevated
       generations

are fastened
       onto scarlet
       oak beams

****

here i stand in full bloom
building a third dimension

between the grassy hill
and the polished blue heavens

the winds massage
my dark auburn limbs

and pluck at my cherry pink
blossoms and twigs

my fingers etch the histories
of a legion of undecided heroes

and beneath my roots
injustice mingles with tears

contamination blades are raised
and pollution circles around me

a further bundle of extinct birds
sprawl at my rooted feet

a bloodshed procession
with nature in shambles
